Your Guide to Preparing for Our Visit

🛠️ Preparation Guidelines

 Installations – Getting Ready for Your New Floor

To ensure a seamless installation:
✅ Remove furniture, rugs, and white goods from the installation area.
✅ Store away fragile items, electronics, and valuables.
✅ If we’re working in a kitchen, ensure appliances are disconnected.
✅ Ensure clear access for our team and tools, including parking space.

📌 Pro Tip: If you need assistance moving heavy items, let us know in advance.

Floor Sanding & Coating – Preparing for a Dust-Free Experience

Sanding produces fine dust—while we take every precaution, some may settle.
✅ Remove furniture, artwork, curtains, and valuables from the work area.
✅ Cover electronics and delicate items to protect them from dust.
✅ If you want floors sanded under white goods, please move them beforehand.
✅ Keep windows slightly open for ventilation if possible.

🐾 Pet Owners: Please keep pets away from the work zone for their safety.

Repairs – Clearing the Area for Restoration Work

✅ Remove furniture and clear any debris from the damaged area.
✅ If the issue involves subflooring, we may need additional access.
✅ Let us know about any hidden water damage or previous coatings applied to your floors.

Insurance Jobs – Booked by your insurance agent or contractor

For insurance-related work, our booking company will take care

Furniture removal and protection – no need to move items yourself!
✅Coordinating with your insurer to ensure the claim process runs smoothly.
✅ Minimising disruption – we’ll keep you updated every step of the way.

📌 You just need to: Ensure easy access to the property and remove personal valuables.

How far in advance should I book?

  • We recommend booking 2-3 weeks in advance to secure your preferred date.

  • Urgent jobs? Contact us, and we’ll do our best to fit you in sooner!

How will I know my booking is confirmed?

  • Once you accept your quotation, an email will confirm your order and welcome you.

  • We will then call you with some proposed dates for your job.

  • Please note that we have customers booked up to two months in advance. We try accommodating a first-in, first-booked process while considering job location and duration.

  • We will confirm an expected week and month for your job.

  • Up to 48 hours before your scheduled job, we will confirm the details via a call, text, or email

  • If you haven't heard from us, please contact us to ensure everything is on track.

  • Start time: Our team usually starts at 7 AM unless they are finishing a previous job. The exact time depends on the size and type of your flooring project
     

What happens if my job needs to be rescheduled?

  • We will contact you within 48 hours of your scheduled date to confirm all details.

  • In rare cases, unforeseen circumstances (such as weather or supplier delays) may require rescheduling.

  • We will keep you informed and provide an alternative date as soon as possible.


🚪 What are the access requirements for my home?

  • To ensure a smooth and efficient job, please ensure:
    ✅ Easy access to all work areas (clear pathways, no locked doors).
    ✅ A parking space close to your property for our vans and equipment.
    ✅ If you live in an apartment or complex, provide lift or stair access instructions beforehand.
    ✅ If no one will be home, arrange a key drop-off or lockbox, and let us know how to access the property.

📌 If there are any access issues (narrow hallways, difficult driveways, security gates), please let us know in advance.

🚛 Do I need to move my furniture?

  • For Insurance Jobs: Your contact person will arrange furniture removal for you.

  • For Direct Bookings: Please remove all furniture from work areas, including:

       ✅ Fridges, white goods, and heavy items (if you want the floor sanded underneath).
       ✅ Artwork, wall hangings, and curtains (or cover them).
       ✅ Personal items and valuables (to prevent dust exposure).
       ✅ Electronics (cover for dust protection).

📌 Need help moving furniture? Let us know in advance, and we can arrange assistance.
 

📍 Do you need power and water access?

Yes, we need access to standard power outlets and running water for our equipment.
If your property is vacant or undergoing renovations, please ensure these utilities are available.


🕒 How long does the process take?

  • Installation: 2-5 days, depending on the size and type of flooring.

  • Sanding & Coating: 1-3 days, plus curing time.

  • Repairs: Varies based on the damage; we’ll assess and advise accordingly.
     

💨 Will there be a lot of dust?

  • We use dust-reducing equipment, but some dust is inevitable.

  • Cover or remove electronics and fragile items to keep them clean.
     

🚪 Can I stay at home while the work is being done?

  • Yes, but we recommend staying out of the work area to avoid dust and fumes from coatings.

  • If strong finishes are being used, you may need to leave for a few hours.
     

🐾 What should I do with my pets?

  • Keep pets out of work areas to avoid accidents.

  • Consider relocating them if they are sensitive to noise or dust.
     

🚶 When can I walk on the floors?

  • Next day: Only in socks.

  • After 3-5 days: Furniture can be placed back carefully.

  • Full cure in 7 days – avoid rugs or heavy furniture before then.
     

💰 When do I pay for my floor?

  • After completion, we will send you an invoice for the sanding and coating jobs.

  • For installations, you must pay for the timber at the time of order.

  • The installation and finishing will be invoiced upon completion.
