Our
Story
Craftsmanship starts with your floor.
Your vision. Our experience. A floor to be proud of.
Every successful CHFloors project starts with you—your home, your ideas and what you want from your timber floor. Bringing that vision to life takes something equally important: a talented team who care about their craft.
With over 70 years of combined experience, we bring practical knowledge, problem-solving skills and plenty of personality to every project. Every team member outside our apprenticeship program has more than 15 years in the flooring industry, and our apprentices learn alongside them.
Meet Our Team
Philip Wiley - Owner and The Floor Whisperer.
Your First Point of Contact
Philip has been in business for more than 55 years, and his enthusiasm for finding the right flooring solution is as strong as ever. Since 1984, he has contributed to some of Canberra’s high-end homes, heritage buildings and major flooring projects.
Drawing on decades of hands-on experience, Philip knows that good advice starts with a close look and a proper conversation. He takes time to understand your floor’s condition, the result you want and the practical options for installation, repairs or refinishing.
He is immensely proud of the CHFloors team and enjoys supporting them in their daily work. His approach is simple: “Do it once, do it properly.”
To get started, send Philip your suburb, a few photos and your preferred timing.
Jari — Our Sanding & Finishing Guru
With 28 years of experience, including over 25 years with CHFloors, Jari brings a calm manner, a steady hand and a sharp eye for detail. He specialises in levelling and finishing—the careful work that helps a floor look and feel its best.
Quietly focused, Jari understands that a beautiful finish begins well before the final coat. His patience and consistent approach make him a valued colleague and an experienced guide for the younger members of our team.
Seth — The Can-Do Sanding & Polishing Professional
Seth has spent more than 20 years working with timber floors, and he brings that experience with a smile and a fantastic can-do attitude. He has worked on many high end homes across Sydney and Canberra. He leads the team and will be your friendly point of contact on site.
His strengths span sanding, finishing and polishing, with a practical approach to getting the job done well. Clients appreciate his friendly manner, while the team value his positive outlook and willingness to get stuck in. Seth brings care to the floor and good energy to the workday.
Danny — Our Installation & Repair Problem-Solver
Danny combines old-school pride in workmanship with modern installation techniques. From detailed stair installations to the scale of a basketball court, he enjoys work that calls for accuracy, planning and practical thinking.
He is our go-to specialist for installation and repair challenges, paying close attention to how each board fits into the finished floor. Whether the task is a careful repair or a substantial new installation, Danny brings a thoughtful approach and a determination to get the details right.
Quan — Our Rising Apprentice
Friendly, helpful and always ready to contribute, Quan is building his skills alongside some very experienced hands.
From preparing materials to learning the finer points of edging and floor preparation, he approaches each day as a chance to learn. His willingness to work, ask questions and support the team is already making him a valued part of the crew. We’re proud to help him build a future in the trade.
Dougie — Keeping Projects & People Connected
Dougie brings a background in manufacturing, industrial design and business management to his role in project coordination and customer care.
He helps connect the conversations, schedules and systems that support the work on site. Liaising with clients and the team, he keeps the practical details moving so everyone understands what happens next. His focus is a well-organised project and a professional, welcoming customer experience.
Our Trusted Project Partners
Some projects call for extra hands or specialist expertise. We also work with a group of valued contractors who support our team across different types of work.
You may meet them on your project, working alongside the CHFloors crew to help bring your flooring plans to life.
